	She originates from the Playstation RPG Legend of Dragoon. The Sapphire Dragoon of Water and Ice, Meru is a young Wingly (a race of winged, magic-adept creatures) girl, who enjoys dancing and travelling. She is upbeat, peppy, exciteable, and a loveable, innocent sort.		She originates from the Playstation RPG Legend of Dragoon. 	She was originally very doubtful and ashamed of herself as a Wingly, as her people cruelly enslaved the very world thousands of years ago. At the time she met Dart (the main character) and his friends, the Winglies, driven near extinction, had retreated into a secluded forest, refusing any sort of human contact. Some were sure that the humans would slaughter them on sight if they left; others felt that they still deserved to rule the world, and plotted to overthrow the humans again.		She was originally very doubtful and ashamed of herself as a Wingly, as her people cruelly enslaved the very world thousands of years ago. At the time she met Dart (the main character) and his friends, the Winglies, driven near extinction, had retreated into a secluded forest, refusing any sort of human contact. Some were sure that the humans would slaughter them on sight if they left; others felt that they still deserved to rule the world, and plotted to overthrow the humans again.

	Meru broke the most ancient laws and left the forest to travel the world. As such, when she returned, she was not only shunned by the populace (with the exception of her mother and arranged husband), but even attacked and driven out. She became known as the 'black sheep' of the 'proud Winglies', not only to her desertion of them, but additionally because she inspired another Wingly girl, the youngest Bardel sister, to start travelling, as well. The Bardel sister, however, was gruesomely murdered, and Meru was blamed for her death.		Meru broke the most ancient laws and left the forest to travel the world.
